Water for the Future has been working on rehabilitating the upper Jukskei river for social impact since early 2017. We were registered as a Non-Profit Organisation in 2019 (243-678 NPO) and a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930068741) in 2020. We have achieved unqualified audits since our inception (available on request), and are endorsed by the City of Johannesburg Environment and Infrastructure Services (COJ-EISD), the Johannesburg Inner City Partnership (JICP), and University of Johannesburg Process, Energy & Environment Technology Station (UJ-PEETS).

Water for the Future has been approved for purposes of section 18A(1)(a) of the Income Tax Act and donations to the organisation will be tax deductible in the hands of the donors in terms of and subject to the limitations prescribed in section 18A of the Act. Donations made to or by Water for the Future are exempt from Donations Tax in terms of section 56(1)(h) of the Income Tax Act. Exemption from the payment of Estate Duty in terms of section 4(h) of the Estate Duty Act No.45 of 1955.
